Your new LinkedIn banner, headline and Featured

Five options, each a different layout. Pick one number and use that option's banner, headline and Featured tile together. Every option sends people to your one-pager information design workshop with the keyword “ONE-PAGER”, the workshop's own name. Each banner is shown at real phone size too, so you can see it reads.

How to put it live

  1. Pick one option below.
  2. Upload the banner. It's already 1584 × 396.
  3. Paste the headline into Edit intro.
  4. Featured → Add a link → your workshops page, then upload the tile as its image.
  5. Reply to every “ONE-PAGER” with the next date, then the DM below.

Five options

Option 1Your own DOC illustrations, on your current black banner, with your headline promise. The one we'd pick.

The one-shot DM

Send it to anyone who likes or comments on your posts, or who's just connected. Swap the highlighted bits for each person.

Kia ora [FIRST NAME], I'm just about to head out the door to [ACTIVITY], so I thought I'd send this quickly before I forget.

I saw you [liked / commented on] my post about [TOPIC] (or: thanks for connecting!), so I wanted to properly introduce myself.

I'm Heather. I co-own Gusto Design in Wellington with Annette. We take the report, strategy or consultation document your team has spent months on, and turn it into something people actually read and understand.

Your profile reminded me of [CLIENT NAME]. They came to us with [THE DOCUMENT] and a deadline, and [RESULT].

It works because we sort out what stays and what goes before we design anything. Then our QA makes sure nothing reaches the board or the Minister with an error in it. It's the same process behind Hutt City Council's consultation document, which won the Taituarā 2024 award.

We've been doing this mahi for 27 years, so we've had a while to dial it in.

Right now we've got an offer where [THE OFFER].

As you can imagine, the forty-page Word doc isn't a big fan of us haha.

Anyway, I really have to go or I'll be late. Would a quick chat about what you're working on be useful? I've got [TIME 1] or [TIME 2] free tomorrow.

If not, no biggie. Happy to just send you the details of our next one-pager workshop instead.

Nice to meet you!

Ngā mihi,
Heather

Before it goes live

  • Set the next workshop date and price. The last public session was 19 August at $360+gst. Anyone who DMs “ONE-PAGER” needs a date to say yes to, and the DM offers the in-house version too.
  • Add the one-pager session to your workshops page. The Featured link goes to gustodesign.co.nz/2024/12/gusto-workshops/, which lists Branding, Storytelling, Discovery and Infographics, but not the one-pager session or a date.
  • Photos: option 2 and every Featured tile use the July and August workshop photos (Judith presenting, guests from behind). Check Judith and the group are happy for them to sit on your profile.
  • Client names: option 3 names DOC, MPI, Health NZ and WHO, all from your own About. Check you're comfortable showing them on the banner.
